3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

4. Acceptable Use

When using Nook Circle, you agree not to:

Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
Upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code
Attempt to access other users' accounts or private information
Use the platform for spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation without authorisation
Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the platform
Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the platform without permission

5. Nook Threads & Community Guidelines

Nook Threads is a space for genuine, compassionate conversation around mental wellbeing. By participating, you agree to:

Treat all community members with respect and empathy
Refrain from posting spam, memes, or promotional content
Not disclose the identity of anonymous posters
Report any content that violates these guidelines

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines at our sole discretion.

6. Professional Services Disclaimer

Important: Nook Circle is a platform that connects individuals seeking support with verified mental health professionals and counsellors. However, any advice, guidance, opinions, or recommendations provided by these professionals are solely their own and are delivered at their individual discretion and professional judgement.

Nook Circle has no direct involvement in the professional-user relationship. The platform does not control, endorse, or guarantee the quality, accuracy, or suitability of any advice or services provided by professionals on the platform.

Nook Circle is not a substitute for emergency services. If you are in crisis or experiencing a medical emergency, please contact your local emergency services immediately.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Nook Circle — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software — are the exclusive property of Nook Circle and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of content you create and post on the platform, but grant Nook Circle a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with operating the platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

Nook Circle is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind
We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to Nook Circle in the twelve months preceding the claim

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Nook Circle, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to Nook Circle at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Nook Circle operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or via email. Your continued use of Nook Circle after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
